NTHAMBI / ABOUT THE STATIONA WORD WITH ROOTSNthambi/ nthám·bi /
Branch · Shade · Growth · Connection
01 / THE MEANING
A branch gives shade.
A branch keeps growing.
In the name Nthambi, we find a simple idea with deep meaning: connection. A branch grows from a root, reaches outward and creates shelter along the way.
That is the spirit we want our station to carry. Our roots are in Malawi — in the neighbourhoods, languages, families and everyday conversations that shape our lives. Our branches reach outward to create room for stories, shared understanding and change.
Our tagline, “Mthunzi wa Chiyembekezo” — the shade of hope — captures the feeling we want listeners to find when they tune in.
02 / WHY WE BROADCAST
Our mission, in action.
Radio can connect people who may never share the same room. We want to use that connection with care.
Fight child abuse
Encourage awareness, prevention and responsibility so children can grow safer and be heard.
Amplify local stories
Keep Malawian voices, local perspectives and community concerns in the conversation.
Grow with integrity
Build a station that remains rooted in dignity, service, hope and responsible communication.
